The German Language course and exam can be done in Egypt through Studiencolleg Glauchau, from level A1 to B1 (depending on which level you need in order to start your program in Germany).

Pricing

Depending on your chosen track and your accommodation, there are various costs involved. In Germany, you will find excellent education and top-notch universities basically for free. However, meeting the criteria for being accepted at a German university requires a certain amount of preparation. In the following PDF, you can find the most important costs.

German Blocked Account

When applying for a visa for Germany, a blocked bank account is required for international students as proof of financial resources to cover their cost of living. It is called a “blocked” account because an initial sum for a whole year is paid in, and then blocked, i.e. only 1/12 (one twelfth) can be paid out per month.

In 2023, students must pay 11,208 euros into the blocked account. This is equal to 934 euros per month. Please keep in mind, that this money is not spent. It only remains in the bank account for the duration of the Studienkolleg and University studies.

The amount can be lowered, f. e. if your accommodation rent in Germany is low.

how to Earn Money
while Studying

There is the possibility to earn money while studying!
 The best opportunity is the so called "Minijob". There you will earn 520 € tax free, working 10 hours a week.

With a Minijob, you could cover 50 % of the costs of your FSP-Course (incl. accommodation, insurance & breakfast)
 or you could easily cover your rent and insurance while studying at the University.
